A natural cycle? Mother Nature disagrees!

"It's getting warmer. Storms are getting stronger...and it's getting harder to say this is an accident of nature" — Dr. Stephen Schneider.

Source: Too Hot Not to Handle (HBO Documentary, 2006).

Notes: full quote by the late Dr. Stephen Schneider, Climate Scientist and Professor at Stanford University:

"It's getting warmer.  The storms are getting stronger.  The glaciers are melting. The plants and animals are changing as you would expect as it is warming.  It is getting harder to say that this is an accident of nature."

Unfortunately, Dr. Schneider passed away in 2010.  He had so many soundbites and insightful things to say about climate change that inspired so many folks, including me.

In his 2009 book, Science as a Contact Sport, page 7, Dr. Schneider has another useful soundbite, whichhe frequently used:

"When I am asked what is different now between our early, carefully hedged warnings 30 years ago (about climate change) and now, I often say, 'What has changed is not the basic science so much as the fact that nature is cooperating with theory.'"
