This video shows a forum, held Thursday, April 4th at the University of Kentucky, that looked at the issue of Global Climate Change through different perspectives of Climate Scientist, Dr. Katharine Hayhoe, Retired Army Brigadier General Steve Anderson, and former Republican Congressman, Bob Inglis.
Expanded Quote: Retired Army General Steve Anderson stated in the closing remarks of his presentation:
"Climate change is real and it is with us. Indeed, the commander of all Pacific forces, Navy Admiral Sam Locklear stated 'the biggest long-term security threat to the Pacific region is climate change.' (Boston Globe, March 9, 2013)
Of course, there are many people on the Republican side that did not support this, including Senator James Inhofe from Oklahoma. He responded by saying, 'I wish all damn the retired generals and admirals would just go fishing.'
Well, ladies and gentlemen, I am not going fishing, and a lot of people like me are not going fishing. There are a lot of people in the miltitary that want to get climate change right.
They want you to help set conditions to get it right and drive renewal energy development in this nation."
